The Machinery of Dehumanization: Historical Echoes and Contemporary Parallells

Introduction

Dehumanization, the process of stripping individuals or groups of their humanity, has long been a precursor to systemic violence and genocide. Philosophically, it represents a rupture in the ethical recognition of "the Other," enabling atrocities by eroding empathy and moral accountability. This article examines the mechanisms of dehumanization employed by Nazi Germany against Jews and Slavs, Imperial Japan’s atrocities against the Chinese through Unit 731, and explores analogous rhetoric and policies in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While historical contexts differ profoundly, the philosophical frameworks underlying dehumanization reveal unsettling parallels in how power structures justify oppression.

Un concorso per il miglior "Designer Nazi".

In questo caso l'idea non è poi così eccentrica considerando che lo "Stile Nazista" è stato uno dei rigorosi, potenti e anche eleganti di sempre.

Non per niente personaggi come Lagerfeld o Galliano ne hanno da sempre compreso il valore estetico ed anche il Rock ha sempre flirtato con questo tipo di abbigliamento.

Our minds are constantly under siege by the propaganda machine, whether from governments or corporations it seems impossible to escape this endless stream of lies that are trying to guide us and move us into preestablished directions.

An example from one of the greatest Propaganda Master ever, an extract from a conversation between Joseph Goebbels (Reich Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945) and director Fritz Lang :

G: "Mr Lang, join us and become the official director of the third reich, Metropolis is Fuehrer's favourite movie ever"

L : "But Minister, i'm Jewish ! "

G: "Mr Lang, we, decide who the jews are"
